Treasa Levasseur

Treasa embodies values of community, connection, and creativity in everything she does.

My life’s work lies in connecting with folks through experiences of communal creative uplift, whether that be from centre stage or behind the scenes. I’m a theatre and music-maker, group facilitator, arts educator, emerging administrator, mover and shaker—and also I love rhyming and alliteration.

Facilitator • Speaker • Program & Community Engagement Leader

Treasa Levasseur is an accomplished facilitator, speaker, and community engagement specialist whose work bridges the performing arts, education, and social justice. She designs and leads initiatives that foster meaningful dialogue, build inclusive communities, and support the evolving needs of the folk music industry. She is also a JUNO-nominated songwriter, a seasoned side person, and has self-released 4 albums throughout her career as a front person.

These days she is finding fresh inspiration in her work as a community music facilitator, program administrator, and arts educator, as well as being an in-demand emcee and pop-up choir leader.

With a background in performance and a passion for participatory leadership, Treasa is known for her ability to hold space for transformative conversations. Her facilitation practice is rooted in horizontal leadership—empowering individuals to lead collectively, share their stories, and co-create safe environments for listening, learning, and connection.

She has led workshops and creative programs for organizations such as Theatre Aquarius, the Art Gallery of Hamilton, and Folk Music Ontario, and regularly speaks at conferences and summits across North America.

Fully bilingual (English and French), Treasa brings a collaborative, culturally informed approach to every project she touches.

Whether leading group dialogues, moderating panels, or designing inclusive arts programming, Treasa Levasseur is a trusted guide for organizations seeking meaningful, people-centred engagement.

Treasa helmed the Developing Artist Program at Folk Music Ontario for six years and recently completed a six-year stint at Folk Alliance International.

She believes strongly in the power of personal expression as an agent of positive change.

“Treasa’s name is synonymous with community. When she puts her creative heart into a project, around her grows a fellowship of artists, students, and dreamers, inspired by her effusive joy, thoughtful curation, and intentional programming. Thank you, Treasa, for manifesting safe and special communities for new generations of creatives to thrive in. You exude the spirit of Estelle in your honest and innovative leadership style, and we are very excited to celebrate your contributions to the folk community with the inaugural Estelle Klein Community Builder Award.”
